This project aims to commercialize compressed optical scanning (COSUP) ultra-high-speed imaging technology through a partnership with Axis Photonique Inc. (Varennes, QC). As a universal imaging platform, COSUP enables very high frame rates by using existing CCD/CMOS cameras in their normal operating mode, without modifying the sensor structure and using off-the-shelf components.
Capitalizing on these attractive advantages, we offer two COSUP cameras and two COSUP modules for high-sensitivity or short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging with a target frame rate of 10,000 to 50 million frames per second. These products will be the most sensitive high-speed camera and the only high-speed SWIR camera on the market.
They have no direct competitors and offer much more cost-effective solutions than existing technologies. These products will be applied to the pharmaceutical and biomedical sectors, both of which represent multi-billion-dollar markets. They are therefore expected to provide Axis Photonique with a competitive advantage in the rapidly growing high-speed camera market. The commercialization of COSUP technology will strengthen Quebec’s technology-driven economy.
