Prompt has been commissioned by the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, and Energy (MEIE) to assess the compliance of funding applications. These applications are submitted by companies and their partners as part of collaborative innovation projects and relevant calls for proposals.
Depending on the terms of each call for proposals, Prompt provides support in the following areas, among others:
- verify the applicant’s eligibility and the compliance of the application, and then coordinate its evaluation by committees;
- support members whose funding has been approved in monitoring and reporting throughout their project;
- manage disbursements and act as an intermediary with the funder.
How do I submit a funding application for an innovation project?
The process includes verifying eligibility criteria, prequalification, and submitting a complete application. The procedures vary depending on the call for proposals.
1. Review the calls for proposals and their eligibility criteria
Before submitting a project, the company must verify the eligibility criteria for the relevant call for proposals. Prompt lists current calls for proposals in its “Opportunities” section, along with the profiles of the target companies and the main selection criteria.
The company should also consult the comprehensive guide to the call for proposals, published by the MEIE and available on the Prompt website. This guide allows the company to verify all the requirements before submitting its application.
2. Submit a prequalification form
Once the eligibility criteria are met, the company may submit a prequalification form. This form is available on the page for the relevant call for proposals. A Prompt advisor reviews the application for compliance and contacts the company to provide recommendations, if necessary.
Only companies that have provided all the information requested on the form will be contacted.
3. Submit a funding application
A company that has passed the prequalification stage may submit its complete funding application. Applications are reviewed by internal and external committees before a decision to approve or deny them is made.
If approved, the company becomes a member of Prompt upon signing its financing agreement. Signing the financing agreement entails an administrative fee of approximately 5% of the amount granted.
4. Monitor the funding provided
Once funding has been approved, Prompt assists members with the administrative and financial management of their projects. Depending on the applicable conditions, the team assists members in verifying the eligibility of expenses and managing reimbursements. It also collects and reviews reports, then submits them to the MEIE and Investissement Québec.
