International Collaboration: Quebec–Daejeon

Proposed collaboration in the field of quantum technology between a Quebec startup/SME and a Korean startup/SME based at Daejeon Technopark that has already been identified.

With the aim of strengthening international cooperation among the industrial, academic, and research sectors in Daejeon and Quebec, and of supporting the development of new products and access to new markets based on quantum technologies, consortia are invited to submit applications for the joint research program described below.

  • Maximum duration

    The project must be completed no later than December 31, 2027

  • Target

    SME (fewer than 249 employees) or startup

  • Submission deadline

    July 31, 2026

  • Maximum financial support

    $100K, representing up to 50% of a project’s costs

Eligibility Requirements


Applications must be submitted by a consortium consisting of:

  • a quantum technology company based in Daejeon;
  • and a quantum company or institution located in Quebec (Canada).

Support Available


Joint Research Project in the Quantum Industry
  • Support for research and development (R&D) and the commercialization of quantum technologies between companies in Daejeon and partners in Quebec (companies, universities, research centers, etc.).
  • Support for proof-of-concept (PoC) demonstrations and prototype development.
  • Support for the preparation of follow-up projects aimed at gaining access to international programs such as Horizon Europe and securing international research funding.

Terms and conditions


  • An extension of up to six months may be granted if warranted by the needs of the international research project, subject to mutual agreement or the approval of the relevant funding agencies.
