Over its 20 years in business, PROMPT has funded nearly 500 innovative projects with a total value approaching $350 million, for a total contribution of almost $115 million.
Thanks to financial arrangements with PROMPT partners, companies are sometimes able to cover up to 80% of project costs. The leverage effect of this financing is essential for Quebec companies looking to innovate.
Mr. Légaré, Professor and Director of theCentre Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications at INRS, simplifies the message for companies hesitating to invest in a partnership research project: “When you invest $1, the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie adds $2 through programs such as those administered by PROMPT, and you can benefit from a research and development tax credit.”The calculation is convincing, and supports training, research and innovation in equal measure.
In connection with PROMPT-funded innovations, nearly 200 patents/IPs have been filed over the past 8 years, creating real wealth for Quebec.
Added to this is the creation of almost 900 jobs since 2015, in a fast-emerging sector (technologies) that has become neuralgic for all business sectors.
