Programme INNOV-R PME: funding for innovative GHG reduction projects in Quebec

In response to the climate emergency, PROMPT, in collaboration with the other Regroupements sectoriels de recherche industrielle (RSRI), is launching a call for projects aimed specifically at Quebec SMEs. The aim of the program is to provide financial support for industrial research projects with high potential for reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the province.

Which projects are eligible?

If you’re a Quebec-based SME with a technology project contributing to the fight against climate change, this program is for you. To be eligible, your project must be carried out in collaboration with another Quebec company, a Quebec public research institution (IRPQ) or a non-profit organization (NPO) involved in research and development.

What funding is available?

By partnering with one of the above-mentioned players, you could benefit from substantial financial support. Depending on the sector of your project, you can obtain up to $1,000,000 for projects related to the electrification of transportation, and up to $375,000 for projects in other sectors. This funding can cover up to 50% of eligible project expenses.

How to get involved

If you are interested in this opportunity, submit your letter of intent by January 29, 2024.

Selection criteria :

Your project must demonstrate significant potential for reducing GHG emissions in Quebec. A basic criterion is a minimum potential of 50,000 tonnes of CO2 reduced or avoided in the first ten years after commercialization of the product, technology or innovation. The contribution of the Fonds d’électrification et de changements climatiques (FECC) to your project must be less than $20 per tonne of CO2 potentially avoided.

The program is administered by the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie du Québec (MEIE). Funding is made possible by the Fonds d’électrification et de changements climatiques (FECC).
