Congratulations to TIBO, winner of the Jury 2025 Coup de Coeur award in the Digital category at the Salon des meilleures pratiques d’affaires, held on November 13. This award recognizes a remarkable innovation project aimed at automating the generation of analysis reports to increase production capacity.
The project, financially supported by Prompt as part of its manufacturing productivity program, is part of the Offensive de transformation numérique (OTN) of the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie (MEIE). It is a perfect illustration of how artificial intelligence can be used to boost industrial efficiency.
The challenge: optimizing a critical process
Specializing in the design and manufacture of tooling for plastic parts, particularly for the automotive sector, TIBO was facing a major bottleneck in its design process. The creation of Manufacturing Analysis Reports (MARs), an essential step prior to the production of a 3D mold, was consuming significant resources and lengthening delivery times.
The objective was ambitious: to reduce the time taken to produce these reports by 50%, while standardizing their quality and centralizing expertise. To achieve this, TIBO opted for a resolutely innovative approach.
The solution: artificial intelligence at the heart of automation
In collaboration with its in-house experts, TIBO has developed a solution based on agentic artificial intelligence. This cutting-edge technology fully automates the creation of DFM reports. The agents, based on Large Language Models (LLMs), are capable of :
- List all required procedures.
- Give precise details of each action.
- Document the technical skills required.
- Integrate project data (specifications, 3D files, etc.) to contextualize the report.
Thanks to the Prompt grant, TIBO was able to finance the creation of macros simulating complex procedures, normally carried out by their most experienced designers.
Impressive results
The spin-offs of this project are significant and demonstrate the success of this digital transformation:
| Indicator | Result |
| DFM report production time | Reduction of almost 80% (from 120 to 25 minutes) |
| Bottlenecks | Eliminated, with the possibility of parallelizing tasks |
| Report quality | Uniformity and centralization of technical expertise |
| In-house skills | Continuous learning for the team |
This remarkable productivity gain has enabled TIBO to strengthen its competitiveness in North American markets and consolidate its position as a leader in engineering and plastic tooling.
Prompt is proud to have supported TIBO in this bold move, and congratulates the entire team on this well-deserved recognition. Their success is a source of inspiration for the entire Quebec manufacturing sector, and proof of the potential of collaboration between public funding and the ingenuity of local companies.
